The House Still Owes You This Vote

Mon, Oct 19, 2026

The North Carolina Senate overrode the veto of Permitless Carry, SB 50, by a vote of 30 to 19 on July 29, 2025, but the House has never taken the final override vote. If the House doesn’t act before this session ends, the bill dies.

Permitless carry, SB 50, has been waiting on the North Carolina House since July 2025, and I want politicians in Raleigh to hear from you before they come back.

The Senate did its job. The House hasn’t.

On July 29, 2025, the Senate overrode the veto of SB 50, the Permitless Carry bill, by a vote of 30 to 19. That sent it to the House for the final override vote. The House has never taken that vote. So permitless carry is not law in North Carolina today, and if the House doesn’t act before this session ends, the bill dies and we start over.

That’s not a close call on the merits. It’s a question of whether House leaders will put it on the board. Politicians love to tell gun owners they’re with us at election time, and this is the one vote that proves it.

Put your name on the record

I’ve set up a quick message you can send straight to your own state representative with one demand: take the override vote on Permitless Carry, SB 50, before the session ends. It takes about a minute, and every message tells them gun owners are watching and won’t accept another round of excuses.

And with early voting open now through October 31, this is exactly when politicians are paying attention to what gun owners think.
