North Carolina finally scrapped its pistol purchase permit in 2023. Cory Booker’s S. 3544 would bring the permit idea back, only bigger, federal and for every firearm.
Week Ending Oct 3: Raleigh Came Back. Freedom to Carry NC Didn’t.
Legislators came back to Raleigh on September 28th, and Freedom to Carry NC still didn’t get a House override vote. The Senate overrode the veto back on July 29th, 2025.
Make Them Vote Before You Do
Stein vetoed SB 50. The Senate overrode him. The House has been hiding the override. Email your State Representative to put permitless carry on the floor and call the vote.
A License for the Gun You Already Own
S. 3544 would require fingerprints, tests, and a federal license per gun. Tell Tillis, Budd, and your U.S. Representative to vote hell no.
