FEDERAL FIREARM LICENSING ACT
Sen. Cory Booker and a bunch of Democratic cosponsors put this in the U.S. Senate, and no, this isn’t a little “safety” tweak. Under the bill as introduced, it’d be unlawful for you to buy, receive, or even possess a firearm without a federal firearm purchasing license, unless the attorney general decides your state’s system is “substantially similar.”

They also wrote in denial and revocation based on a “dangerousness” call, with court review, and procedures to take your firearms after a revocation.
That’s how you turn the Second Amendment into a permission slip.
Your right to keep what you already lawfully own would hang on staying in good standing with D.C., and every transfer would feed a reporting stream to the feds. Waiting for a big floor-vote headline is how these things quietly pick up steam in committee.
