Democrats Seize Power in Raleigh

Thu, Nov 5, 2026

Democrats took the North Carolina House on Tuesday and broke the Republican supermajority in Raleigh. Here is what that means for gun owners, and why the SB 50 permitless carry House override on November 16 or November 30 is the last shot before January.

OVERRIDE SB 50 NOW

Override SB 50 here

I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Tuesday was a throat punch for every gun owner in North Carolina.

Democrats just broke the Republican supermajority in Raleigh and took control of the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Unofficial results show Democrats took 70 of 120 seats in the House, which is their first majority since 2010.

In the Senate, Republicans dropped to 26 seats vs 24 for the Dems, with one race possibly headed for a recount.

Here’s what that means for you.

THE ATTACK POINT

Democrats in January will now control two-thirds of North Carolina State Government.

That means that the Democrats are going to quickly shift into full-blown attack mode to try to pass their sweeping gun-control agenda, like statewide gun registration, a total BAN on AR-15s, and Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws.

They have a governor who will sign anything that gets to his desk, they have a House chamber that they can ram their bills through, and the only thing blocking them will be our two weakest members of the Senate Republican Majority.

Quite frankly, these are terrifying odds, and NCFC is already shifting into full-blown defensive battle mode to stop them from passing it.

But we can’t forget about one last chance we have to get Permitless Carry across the finish line.

THE MATH

We still have a sliver of a window to get this bill done. Stein already vetoed the bill, the Senate already overrode his veto, all that’s remaining is a veto override vote in the NC House.

Because don’t forget, the current General Assembly still has two dates on the calendar.

November 16 and November 30. Those are the only chances we have left.

WUNC reports that two scumbag House Republicans, Reps. William Brisson and Ted Davis, are against it, but I gotta’ be blunt here: if SB 50 doesn’t get a House override vote this month, it’s dead for at least two years.

This is the last shot. Don’t let House Republicans waste it.

TAKE ACTION NOW

I’m asking you to do two things right now.

First, contact your state representative immediately and demand that they hold the SB 50 override vote on November 16 or November 30.

Second, if your rep is Brisson or Davis, tell them gun owners will absolutely hold them accountable in the 2028 elections, and that we don’t forget backstabbing traitors who join with the Democrats to betray the Second Amendment.

OVERRIDE SB 50 NOW

Please don’t sit around and hope somebody else makes the call. Make it right now.

Tuesday hurt. But NCFC doesn’t quit, and this fight for Permitless Carry isn’t over until January.

P.S. After January, Democrats will control two-thirds of North Carolina government and be positioned to start attacking our gun rights with everything they’ve got.

And Josh Stein’s veto power will become impossible to overcome, sealing the fate on any pro-gun bill for the next two years.

Contact your state representative and demand that they hold the vote to override Governor Stein’s veto on SB 50 IMMEDIATELY:
